WHO donations to Ministry of Health and Sanitation
WHO donates 1 Ambulance, 4 Vehicles, Blood Banks, Refrigerators, Laboratory Equipments, Teaching AIDS, Motor Bikes and other supplies to Ministry of Health and Sanitation
(22 March 2010) On behalf of the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Margaret Chan and the Regional Director of WHO Africa, Dr. Louis Sambo, the WHO Country Office is pleased to donate today four vehicles to support various health programs including nutritional surveillance; 8 blood banks and 11 freezers to support safe blood services for maternal and child health; assorted teaching aids including mannequins to support teaching and learning of medical, nursing and midwifery schools, assorted laboratory equipment to support the strengthening of national reference laboratory system and improve diagnosis of selective diseases and 21 motorbikes to improve surveillance and response activities.
